Overview
The Rebecca Bennett for Congress campaign is seeking an experienced Field Director to work on the competitive congressional race in NJ-07 for the 2026 cycle. The Field Director will work closely with the campaign manager, serving as the point of contact for the direct voter contact program, and will be responsible for directing the day-to-day organizing operations. They are responsible for building and executing the campaign field plan, managing field staff and volunteers, opening and managing the field headquarters, and are accountable for all quantitative and qualitative field metrics.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Campaign Manager to develop, and then implement an organizing plan to persuade and turn out voters.
Hiring and managing a team of organizers to build up a strong volunteer and canvass program, conduct voter contact, and host in-person or distributed events. - Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots stakeholders, and key activists to maximize organizing capacity
- Coordinating regularly with the campaign’s leadership team so that the organizing program is supported by and integrated into the overall campaign strategy.
- Building and implementing systems and structures to lead organizers to successfully meet daily, weekly, and phase goals for capacity building and voter contact, as well as maintain data integrity.
- Working closely with DCCC and partners to further develop and implement the NJ-07 candidate-specific-model and revise and execute the plan as the cycle progresses, with key attention to using data-driven and known best practices for voter targeting and direct voter contact.
- Other department responsibilities as needed.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Requirements
- At least 2 cycles of campaign organizing experience, including 1 cycle of staff management experience
- Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue campaigns in a paid staff capacity
- Proficiency in VAN, Google Suite, and Mobilize
- Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.
- Experience developing, training and empowering volunteers.
- Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and creatively.
- Access to a vehicle or other, reliable means of transportation.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to relocate for the duration of the campaign.
Preferred
- Experience serving as a Deputy Field Director or equivalent role on a statewide, congressional, or issue-advocacy campaign that centered direct voter contact as a key strategy.
- Familiarity with New Jersey politics and landscape.
- Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers.
- Experience with turning data reporting into actionable success for program.
