We are the Service Employees International Union Local 1, an organization of more than 45,000 members across the Midwest united by the belief in the dignity and worth of working people and the services they provide and dedicated to improving the lives of workers and their families and creating a more just and humane society. Local 1 is committed to improving the lives of members and all working people by winning real economic justice and standing at the forefront of the fight for immigrant, racial, LGBTQ+ and environmental justice. We are airport workers, janitors, residential workers, window washers, factory workers, school service workers, security officers, and more. We seek a stronger union to build power for ourselves and to protect the people we serve. As a leading advocacy organization for working people, it is our responsibility to pursue justice for all.
