Company Overview

Renew U.S. Alliance is a national nonprofit dedicated to building progressive governing power in states across the country, laying the foundation for a progressive movement strong enough to restore the planet, make democracy real, and ensure an equitable society for all.

We work to turn grassroots energy into political power: partnering deeply with local organizations, recruiting and supporting progressive champions for state and local office, strengthening state-level progressive movements, and building co-governance structures for these state movements to support elected champions and hold them accountable.

Company History

Formed in early 2020, Renew integrates deep organizing, policy advocacy and electoral politics to achieve immediate state-level policy victories and long-term, sustained political transformation. It is a new model for lasting power-building that can be scaled on the timeframe necessary to meet the social and environmental crises we face.

In 2020, Renew piloted its program in six Northeastern states. We built a strong foundation and a powerful multi-racial coalition of over 150 grassroots organizations led by frontline communities, organized labor, Indigenous tribes, environmental justice advocates, youth groups, and racial justice organizations.

Additionally, in the 2020 election, Renew supported over 200 state and local candidates across the region who committed to fight for this policy platform and to refuse donations from the fossil fuel industry – a stunning 64% of these candidates won. Renew expanded to operate in 6 more states - for a total of 12 - in the 2022 election cycle. We are continuing to expand in 2023 and beyond. Our goal is to win governing majorities in state legislatures in order to pass ambitious economic, racial, and climate justice legislation.

Unlimited Paid Time Off Policy

vacation, personal, and sick leave, plus paid time off for most federal holidays, Juneteenth, the
week between Christmas and New Years, and requested religious holidays.

Paid Parental Leave
All staff are eligible to take 12 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child.

Health Insurance
Renew covers 100% of employee health insurance premiums and 50% for dependents. Renew
pays for 75% of vision and dental insurance premiums for employees.

Sabbatical Leave
Employees become eligible for a 10-week paid sabbatical leave upon completion of five years of
