Company Overview
Reach Progress PBC is building an app that helps progressive organizations harness their people-power like never before. Since we first built the product on the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez campaign in 2018, over 80,000 organizers across 1000 campaigns, labor unions, and non-profits have used the tool. In the coming months, we are designing and building out features which will make the app an even more critical part of the progressive organizing toolkit. We are in the process of expanding our client base to larger organizations and scaling our technical and support infrastructure accordingly.
We are a fast-moving, boldly progressive Public Benefit Corporation based in Queens, NY. Our team is made up of passionate activists, engineers, designers, and organizers who have come together to build a product we all care deeply about. Our customers are the candidates, campaigns, and organizations who are building the future and fighting for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. Our users are the grassroots activists that are changing the world.
The atmosphere at the Reach office is very casual. It is our own dedicated space (not co-working) with a private bathroom, windows on three walls (with great views of Manhattan and Queens), and a small kitchen area with a sink, coffee, tea, mini-fridge, microwave, and toaster. It is up one flight of stairs with no elevator access. We have an open floor plan plus a separated conference room with some sound isolation where we do demos and meetings. Everyone has an adjustable desk so people sit or stand at their desks, hit the couch with their laptop, or gather in the conference room as the spirit moves them.
Long Island City is an amazing neighborhood with great restaurants coffee shops and breweries within a 5-10 minute walk from the office and tons of transportation options. Most of us get to the office by foot, bike, and subway.
Jake’s dog Edison is frequently at the office for inspiration and tug-of-war breaks. Megan and Leo’s cats have yet to visit.
Our typical office hours are 10-6 but those are flexible and we have no trouble making time for various life things that come up. It is not uncommon for some folks to come in early and others to stay late depending on when each of us gets our best work done. We have full-team meetings once a week and other ticket-review and design meetings as needed. We often have beer Friday afternoons to close out the week and sometimes have weekend hackathons with snacks in place of a normal work day when we’re in the mood to mix things up.
