Description
John Kulewicz campaign for Ohio Attorney General is hiring a Finance Director to lead the fundraising program for one of the top 2026 statewide races in Ohio. The Finance Director is a senior staff level position that will report to the Senior Advisor, Campaign Manager and Campaign Treasurer to build and execute a multi-million dollar finance plan that engages stakeholders at the state and national level. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Columbus, Ohio with a target start date in November 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan with clear monthly and reporting period goals for major donors, law firms, PACs, grassroots, digital and events.
- Organize, plan, and execute fundraising events, including in-person and virtual fundraisers, receptions, and meet-and-greet opportunities in state and nationally
- Oversee all aspects of the finance team and day to day operations; including consultants, junior staff, and interns
Regularly staff the candidate at fundraisers, donor meetings and political events - Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with donors, partners, committees, labor unions and the campaign’s Finance Committee
- Ensure the finance department is regularly and accurately maintaining databases and contact lists
- Drive donor strategy: identify, research, and cultivate new donors while expanding and developing existing donor networks, especially around increased engagement with the overall campaign
- Coordinate and execute the candidate's call-time program; including all list preparation, preparing briefings, follow up, and staffing as needed
- Collaborate with Senior Advisor on high-dollar solicitations and direct mail program
- Oversee a thank you note system to send thank you letters to every donor
- Other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the campaign
Compensation
The salary will be $6,000 - $7,500 per month commensurate with experience and full benefits including PTO as needed, health insurance and optional vision and dental insurance. The hourly expectation will fluctuate based on the day to day needs of the campaign, but will be a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- At least 1-2 cycles in campaign fundraising; experience as a Finance Director or Deputy Finance Director with staff management is strongly encouraged
- Knowledge of Ohio’s political and donor landscape preferred but not required
- Proficiency with NGP or Campaign Deputy, ActBlue, Pingdex, and Google Suite
- Strong attention to cultivating genuine donor relationships to ensure donors do not feel like a candidate’s ATM.
- Ability to take and implement feedback from managers
- Great interpersonal skills, and a positive and thoughtful attitude
- Strong attention to detail in fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and priorities
- Valid driver’s license, reliable access to a personal vehicle, internet, and a cellphon
