Start Date: Immediate
Salary: $60-70k, commensurate with experience. Full-time, with benefits.
About the Campaign
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is serving her third term as Senator, re-elected in 2024. She is Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, with the goal of flipping the balance of power through battleground Senate seats. Additionally, she is contributing to the NY Coordinated Campaign to support the congressional seats across the state. Last cycle, through her leadership, we were able to win 5 out of 7 seats, vastly overperforming the rest of the country. We are building a dynamic, mission-driven team to power our high-dollar fundraising programs as we prepare for the 2026 election cycle.
Position Summary
The Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting the Senator’s finance operations, helping to execute the Senator’s national and New York-based fundraising plan. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced political environment. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in political fundraising at the statewide and national level.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Director in implementing the campaign’s fundraising strategy.
- Manage and update donor databases, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of contributions and pledges.
- Manage and lead an internship program.
- Conduct donor research and prepare background briefings and call sheets for call time and donor meetings.
- Support planning and execution of call time and fundraising events – donor receptions, dinners, and virtual fundraisers.
- Draft donor communications, including invitations, thank-you notes, and follow-up correspondence.
- Help coordinate candidate call time and maintain detailed records of outreach and results.
- Assist with FEC compliance tracking and contribution processing as needed.
- Provide general administrative and logistical support to the finance team.
- Ability to work from home, with in person staffing required (some travel needed). Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of campaign, fundraising, or political experience preferred (internships count).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-starter and assertive.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Comfortable making donor calls and working with high-level supporters.
- Proficiency with NGP VAN, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
