Description
Utrecht, Kleinfeld, Fiori, Clark, Partners is a Washington, D.C. based boutique law firm that specializes in counseling clients on campaign finance, election, lobbying, nonprofit, and ethics laws. The work of the firm has a particular emphasis on compliance with federal and state campaign finance laws. Past and current clients include members of the House and Senate, presidential campaigns, nonprofit organizations, labor unions, political committees, and consulting businesses.
The firm is seeking an associate attorney to work under the guidance of the firm’s partners advising clients on a wide range of matters.
Ideal applicant would have the following qualifications:
- Law degree from an ABA accredited law school;
- Admitted to the bar in at least one jurisdiction;
- 0-3 years of legal experience in a law firm, government, non-profit, political, or corporate setting;
- A demonstrated interest in general political and election law;
- Experience with corporate governance and IRS rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of drafting contracts;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities;
- Exceptional research skills;
- Professional demeanor;
- Capacity to multi-task and prioritize projects independently; and
- A good work ethic, especially with limited supervision.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and legal materials at the request of firm partners and clients on complex topics related to federal, state, and local laws;
- Work and liaise directly with clients on a range of legal issues under partner supervision;
- Assist clients in responding to matters before federal, state, and local regulatory entities;
- Review materials and draft filings prepared by clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws and agency regulations;
- Draft contracts, grants, and other documents and prepare/review filings for clients; and
- Advise on contract and other general legal matters for clients.
This position has a January 5, 2026, start date, with the potential to start earlier. Salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000.
